From May 18 to 20, 2024, the 19th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "Conference") was successfully held in Binjiang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. With the theme of "Building a 'Zero-Waste City' to achieve pollution reduction and carbon reduction", the conference aims to promote industry exchanges in the field of solid waste, accelerate the construction of a "Zero-Waste City", and promote the construction of an international "Zero-Waste City" network.
The conference was hosted by Tsinghua University, UNEP Representative Office in China, Zhejiang Gongshang University and other organizations, organized by 7 organizations including Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific and Hangzhou Binjiang Environmental Development Co., LTD., and co-organized and supported by 20 organizations.
The conference consisted of a 3-day general assembly, English parallel Assembly, 45 chapters, technical visits, corporate exhibitions and supply and demand matchmaking sessions. There were more than 1,100 offline participants and online participants from 30 countries including the UK, Singapore and Bangladesh. A total of 6,890,700 people from all walks of life watched the conference cloud online.
