The Joint Fifth Meeting for BCRC-Egypt Project Steering Committee (PSC) and Center Steering Committee (CSC)
Geneva, Switzerland 25 April 2017
BCRC-Egypt set up an arrangement to organize the joint meeting for CSC and the PSC on the sidelines of The 13th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention, Geneva, Switzerland from 24 April to 05 May 2017, to review the center and the project activities over 2016 and discuss the Arab states needs for the following period. BCRC-Egypt decided to hold the meeting on the sidelines of the COP, in order to save the travelling expenses of the steering committees members who shall attend the COP on the expenses of their own countries. On the other hand, the presence of all the Arab focal points as observers will allow more exposure to the project activities to all the Arab states and also allow more exchange of thoughts between all the Arab states. The meeting took place on Tuesday, the 25th of April, 2017 at Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG), Geneva, Switzerland.

Decisions
- The Steering Committee approved the no cost extension of the project until the first quarter of 2018
- The Steering Committee approved its new structure to be composed of: Saudi Arabia as the Chair, Sudan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt, the Host country.
